I'd like to post a few thoughts I have regarding the topic of school safety:

1.  I believe that Minnesota has a School Weapons Zero-Tolerance Law in place, which I definitely support.  Its important to remind parents and the community that we do have police liasion officers currently at Roseville Area High School and Roseville Area Middle School, helping to enforce this law and general safety of our students.

2.  Safety is up to all of us as well; we all need to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or persons in or near our schools.

3.  I feel that students will feel safe if they have strong and trusting relationships with the adults in the schools.

4.  I would encourage all parents to review the recent issue of Roseville City News; on the cover is a wonderful article regarding the safe transportation of our students to and from school.
